I always remember people saying to get your tomatoes in by Cup Day to have them ripening at Christmas. Which is not to say that you *have* to have them for Christmas, but in my head, Cup Day is around about when you should be getting your tomatoes on, you know?

I have mint, sage, thyme and rosemary from last year all going strong, plus basil and tomatoes newly planted. I'm in the south west of the state, which is damper and cooler, and only planted my tomatoes two weeks ago, so I don't think you're that late! Our smallest plant is Grosse Lisse, but it's going well.

For what it's worth, I made a lunch concoction today that was specifically inspired by your fried rice with kale the other day. So even if you're not a capital-letters Food Blogger, you're encouraging at least one person to experiment a little more :)

Not weird at all. I recently did something pretty similar but with some salami bits instead of the onion (which also sounds awesome).

It sounds outlandish, but cheese & sage go well, as do cheese and apple. I can see this, or something akin to it, turning into a really nice savoury tart or quiche. Nicely done. =)

I love the dish and your gorgeous photos. And, since I have preserved lemons in the fridge, I just have to get some Israeli couscous.

Thanks for sharing with Presto Pasta Night. I hope to see you back often.
